The Town of Hampstead is 100% residential. There are no retail shops or businesses within it’s municipal boundaries. However, residents can enjoy Monkland Village and Snowdon within walking distance. The houses sit on relatively large plush green lots. The municipality as several pools, parks and recreation centres. The town was named after another garden city, the London suburb of Hampstead Village. Like its namesake, Hampstead is the home of many affluent citizens, and competes with a few other suburbs for first place in the rankings of highest average household incomes in Canada.
