The Défi Canderel started as an act of love, when my aunt, Susan Wener, was diagnosed with cancer in 1989. My uncle, Jonathan Wener, wanted to do everything in his power to help. The result was the birth of the Défi Canderel – a fundraiser that has now contributed over 15 million dollars to cancer research for the Goodman Cancer Research Centre at McGill and the Montreal Cancer Institute at the University of Montreal.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of Défi Canderel and takes place on Thursday, May 9th. To learn more about the run click here. Let’s work together to create a cancer-free future. My cousins and their families will be running once again this year to find a cure for cancer. Please help us in making this a reality.
